in memory of my lost hero by mandalorianjedi in memory of my lost hero by mandalorianjedi
Last week, I lost another one of my heros. President Gordon B. Hinckley (leading the LDS church aka latter-day-saints aka mormon), at the age of 97, he passed on with his boots on. Still in shape and working. Life goes on, but he will be missed greatly. Best wishes to Thomas S Monson...

There is a saying among Doctor Who fans that goes that "you'll never forget your first Doctor" I.e. the character who played the Doctor when you started watching Doctor Who. I think the same sort of thing goes for prophets. They're all awesome and bring something great to the table, but you'll never forget your first one, and President Hinkley was mine.

*sob* I miss him so much.

Hope you don't find my analogy offensive or anything. It just seemed to fit. :)

Okay, so it doesn't go for everyone, but it's a really popular saying where I'm from. :)

And yes, Hinkley is just awesome.

I am LDS, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate this piece. Thank you so much for putting this together. God be with you, my friend.

I believe in Jesus Christ, my Savior. If you do too, copy and paste this into your signature.

Treat others the way you want to be treated.

If we spent every minute of our lives thanking God for all that He has done, that still wouldn't be enough.

A little hard work never killed anybody.

Could you make something similar to this, only with Jesus Christ this time? He's my ultimate hero.

He was my hero too. :cries: I miss him so much. I'm LDS too.
When my mom came into the room and announced his death I was actually watching Secondhand Lions and it was on the EXACT moment when the one uncle says "She died with her boots on."
It felt like my stomach was in a knot.

He's not lost.
He's not gone.
He's only a little further down the road than we.
His body may be at rest, but his spirit lives on.
And you can bet he's making someone smile on the other side.
